How I Plan to Lead

I believe the first step in leadership is listening. As Sheriff, I would begin by meeting with employees throughout the Sheriff’s Office, including detention, patrol, investigations, administration, and support staff, to better understand what is working, what needs attention, and where employees feel they need better support, training, equipment, or leadership.

My goal is not to change things just for the sake of change. My goal is to build on what works, fix what needs attention, support the employees doing the job, responsibly manage taxpayer dollars, and make sure the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office is prepared for the challenges facing law enforcement today.
